The Surgical Intensive Care Unit is an evidence-based intensive care centre for people who are recovering from surgery and also those who require close observation. Kinder Women’s Hospital’s Surgical ICU is a six bedded department that accepts and manages patients who have undergone a variety of procedures under obstetrics and gynaecology, selected procedures under General and Bariatric surgery. It assists in providing the patients a peaceful postoperative period and shows strict adherence to infection control measures. SCOPE OF SERVICES 2.0 SCOPE OF SERVICES • All Gynaec/Obstetric Post Operative patients • Appendicectomy • Hernioplasty, Hernia repair • Varicocelectomy • Ectopic management • Blood Transfusion for adult • Breast Lump excision ACTIVITIES Post – operative care of general surgery Post – operative care of LSCS Post – operative care of Hysterectomy, myomectomy and salpingectomy Care of patients with postpartum haemorrhage after LSCS Care of patients with eclampsia Care of patients with epidural analgesis Procedure for removing the epidural catheter Observation for daycare procedures
