Dr. Ananthen Killikulangara Sadanandan is a highly experienced paediatrician and neonatologist with over two decades of expertise in child and newborn care. He completed his M.B.B.S. in 1998 from Government Medical College, Thrissur, followed by D.C.H. in 2002 and M.D. (Paediatrics) in 2003 from Government Medical College, Alappuzha. He then pursued a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, he worked in the Department of Neonatology at MOSC Medical College, Kolenchery, Kerala. He further advanced his academic credentials by earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Law & Ethics (PGDMLE) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Dr. Ananthen underwent advanced training in neonatology in Australia and worked for five years in some of the leading neonatal centres, including Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney, and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney. During this period, he gained extensive experience in the care of extremely premature and critically ill neonates, including resuscitation, stabilization, and intensive ongoing care. He was an integral part of the renowned Neonatal and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), Westmead, Sydney, and performed nearly a hundred critical retrievals of sick infants and children via road, rotor wing, and fixed-wing transports. Dr. Ananthen is also passionate about academics and research. He served as a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, has authored three research publications, and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international forums. Adding to his distinguished credentials, Dr. Ananthen has successfully cleared the Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), London, further underscoring his global expertise in paediatrics. Currently, he serves as the Chief Consultant and Head of the Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology at Kinder Women’s Hospital & Fertility Centre, Cherthala, where he leads a dedicated team committed to providing world-class care for children and newborns.
